The first thing we can do to improve our overall appearance is to take good care of our skin.  Living in Southern California, or many other sunny parts of the world, we have grown up being exposed to the sun's damaging rays.  Simply using sunscreen has not become enough to both protect and improve our skin. 

Proper skin care for both men and women, with regular exfoliation and the use of products can refresh your skin and keep you looking much younger and healthier than you had ever expected. Starting skin care is a good idea at any age, whether you are a teenager experiencing acne, or a more mature patient with fine lines and age spots.

At Del Mar Plastic Surgery, each and every patient is treated individually in regards to their skin care goals. We evaluate carefully many factors including: skin type, patient's schedule, goals and budget.  There is a skin care program available for everyone.  

Often times, a patient will visit the office wanting a fresher look and not know where to begin.  Skin care is the absolute first step you should take to looking better. While surgery, injectable treatments, and lasers all play a part in a patient's treatment program, without skin care, the program will ultimately not reach its potential.

We have researched various product lines and chosen which ones we feel work the best for our patients.  We carry products from Physicians Choice of Arizona, SkinCeuticals, Paphos, and our own special Retin-A cream designed and compounded by Dr. Pollack.

San Diego Microdermabrasion

This is a non-invasive procedure that uses a highly controlled spray of fine crystals to remove the outer layer of skin and reveal the younger, tighter and more radiant skin underneath. There is no downtime with this procedure. A series of treatments is recommended.

Laser Hair Removal in San Diego

Our Pulsed Light System (IPL) works by emitting pulses of intense light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted into heat.

The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair. These treatments are fast, comfortable and affordable. Best results are achieved on lighter skin with darker hair and require anywhere from 4-8 sessions. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Pollack to see if you are a good candidate.

Photofacial in San Diego

Photorejuvenation with this Intense Pulsed Light system involves the reduction of the signs of aging, notably wide areas of pigmentation on the face, chest, and arms.

We can visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, sun spots, age spots, freckles, and redness caused by broken capillaries and rosacea.

There is no recovery time and a very low risk of complications. Treatments are performed in the office and are extremely comfortable. Multiple treatments are usually required, and Dr. Pollack will design a treatment plan especially for you.

Paphos San Diego Skin Care

Del Mar Plastic Surgery offers an exciting, all-natural skin care program developed by Dr. Pollack and his partners at Paphos Skincare. These products were formulated in Italy, and are now made here in the USA.

The ITALIAN THERABRASION is an in-office, hand-applied microdermabrasion and light acid peel done by our aesthetician. It is a 45 minute relaxing and therapeutic facial treatment that rejuvenates the skin, reduces blemishes, and fights wrinkles due to sun and environmental damage. Complimenting the Paphos peel are the home care products that are effective and simple to use. The morning cream is our CREMA RINNOVANTE LYCOPENE cream, a make-up friendly skin renewing cream that contains the powerful antioxidant Lycopene found in tomatoes. Obagi Blue Peel

This deep chemical peel(TCA) is a wonderful way to treat deeper lines and hyperpigmentation (brown spots) on the face, neck and chest. Peeling occurs for approximately 10 days following the peel. Preparation of the skin with products and microdermabrasion is required for 4-6 weeks before this peel.
