Lift the Brows for a Less Tired Look

Tired Eyes RemedyWhen it comes time to address some of the signs of facial aging, usually the eyes are the first thing we notice.  Drooping upper lids and prominent frown lines can make you look tired and angry even when you aren’t.  Sometimes, upper eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty will remedy the problem just by removing excess skin from the upper lids.  Other times, it may be necessary to perform a brow lift or forehead lift.  If the position of the brows is below the brow bone, then it may be necessary to lift them to the appropriate position to open up the eyes.

A brow lift not only lifts the brows to the right location, but also reduces the furrows and creases that develop across the middle of the forehead.  The procedure is performed endoscopically through a few tiny incisions in the hairline.  Tissue and muscle beneath the skin are repositioned and/or removed.  Recovery takes about 5-7 days.

Following surgery, using appropriate skin care and having occasional Botox treatments for maintenance is recommended.

If you aren’t sure if eyelid surgery or a brow lift is the right procedure for you, call our office and talk with our cosmetic surgery consultant or make an appointment to see Dr. Pollack for a consultation.
