Thin woman covering her breastThere is no such thing as a safe tan.  Don’t fool yourself into thinking just because you are tanning slowly in a bed and getting a “base” tan that you are safer than if you go outside and get burned.

Unfortunately, melanoma, the deadliest kind of skin cancer, is on the rise, despite all of the major warnings and education about sun protection.  Personally, I have had melanoma twice, but was lucky enough to catch it before it got too deep.  I had a large chunk of my thigh removed, but I am completely healthy!

Nobody likes to wear shorts or a bathing suit in the summertime with pasty white legs.  The answer:  Spray tan!!!  There are a few great spray tanning systems out there that actually make you look brown and last for several days including SunFx, which we use in our office.  An at home option: for about $6, you can purchase Jergen’s Daily Glow and have a nice gradual tan every day.

Don’t risk your life for a tan– you can look great with a spray or self tanner!!
