Xeomin

xeominFor the last 10 years or more Botox has been the main “go to” treatment for wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet.  Botox, or botulinum toxin A is manufactured by Allergan and has been just about the only reliable treatment available.  A few years ago, a competitor entered the market called Dysport  (from Medicis) with favorable reviews.  Dysport has offered some competition in the marketplace but is dosed slightly differently than Botox.

Just this month, Merz Aesthetics released their version of botulinum toxin A, called Xeomin (pronounced Zee-oh-men).  Xeomin is administered in an almost identical dosing pattern to Botox (number of units needed) but costs about 10% less.  Just like any other drug or medicine, generic alternatives and competitors are always good for the consumer.  Instead of only having one option, patients now have multiple options and lower price points to choose from.

Dr. Pollack is extremely happy to be offering Xeomin now.  Make sure to ask for it!
